My Wonderful World Of Records

Normally I wouldn’t post an enormous photo of myself here on Cha Cha Charming, but please allow me this one ridiculously exciting exception. This photo was taken by Eilon Paz, who has been trekking around the globe¬†documenting vinyl junkies and their bad habits for his website (and soon-to-be book), Dust & Grooves. He recently came round to my place in Brooklyn, where I played him my top girl-pop picks and attempted to explain my love for Megadeth, Barry Gibb & Barbra Streisand’s Guilty LP, and the Cookies “I Never Dreamed.” He photographed my most prized records (Pinky Chicks, Sue Lynne, Brunetta) and my stash of bizarre ’50s adult-only records that I had completely forgotten I had. I am so very honored to be a part of such a visually-stunning vinyl-appreciation project along with so many record collectors who I know + love. You can read my rants about the collector hierarchy, my missing Gillian Hills EP, the 45 versus the LP, and feminism here:¬†
