In other radio news, the WFMU marathon— my station’s annual fundraiser is coming up fast. From March 6th – March 20th WFMU will attempt to raise enough money to keep the station alive and kicking, whilst maintaining their wonderfully liberating status as America’s longest running independent, non-commercial, non-corporate, freeform radio station. So if any of you have been enjoying “Sophisticated Boom Boom” or the many buy ativan from usa other glorious shows on WFMU, I and the station would be most grateful for your support! I shall post more marathon news + links as the date approaches.

Oh, and WFMU have just launched a side-project called Rate That DJ where we DJs have opted to subject ourselves to brutal public lashings. At the moment I have 4 stars, and appear to be neck-in-neck with John Peel. Paris Hilton is currently the least popular DJ and WFMU DJ Scott Williams is at the top with close to 5 stars. PLEASE HELP ME BEAT SCOTT!!!!!!!!!! ; )

I recently did an interview with reissue label, Ace Records on how I got into the compiling biz. You can read that here: http://acerecords.co.uk/features/ace-people/sheila-b

And lastly, I wrote the liner notes for the upcoming Love Hit Me! Decca Beat Girls 1962-1970 series, which is due out next month. Will post more deets (and Niall McCormack’s gorgeous artwork) closer to the release date!

  1. Hi Sheila. A fan from Sweden here running a female-fronted night called Too Cute To Puke. Your show is essential listening for me but why can’t I get your shows as a podcast via https://wfmu.org/podcast ? Is this on purpose or did somebody just forget to turn it on?
