I am in LOVE with this band. Pop Justice insisted its readers cancel all plans to attend Alphabeat's first London gig and I obeyed. This is precisely what reaffirms my faith in new music. I spent the rest of the night interrogating the guitarist in a drunken, over-excited state. "How in the hell did you write "Fascination???!!!" Watch the YouTube vid here.

I was in Manchester for last week's bank holiday weekend, rummaging through the generous helpings of girl group + soul 45s at the infamous Beatin' Rhythm record shop, followed by B-Music's Bearded Ladies girl-fest, where I spun a quick set with lotsa very very sweet DJettes like Lady Miss Dawn, Lady J, and Anna Dutronc. Flu + exhaustion prevented me a trip to Birmingham for a nite with the Mama Feel Good gals. Hopefully that'll be rescheduled.

The entire month of June I'll be touring the U.K., holding auditions nationwide for a girl group that blows all the Pussycat Dolls and Britney-wannabes out of the water. It's what I've been preparing for since birth.
