A most serious photo to accompany a most serious event--the book launch of Johan Kugelberg's Vintage Rock T-Shirts at the super swanky Home House where attendees were greeted with free champagne and garage rock provided by Jon Savage, Bob Stanley, and me. Speaking of Jon Savage, the following night he held his own book launch for the exhaustively researched 576-page monster, Teenage: The Creation of Youth 1875-1945, which--even on page 35--is already fascinating. But I hate the idea of having to read it at 30 minutes intervals (commuting from London to Kent) so I'm setting it aside for a proper vacation, when I can spend hours reveling in Jon's teenage world.

My world has changed a whole lot since my last diary entry. I've already told those on the Cha Cha Charming mailing list, but I need to say it here that I landed my dream job!!!! It's too soon to divulge all the deets, but I've been employed as head of A&R at a new record label where I'll be specializing in girl-pop. Can you believe it? I'll be traveling the world in search of my very own girl star, so if any of you have any pointers, send them my way!

Well, it's Cherrybomb tonite and I'm recovering from a nasty flu, so better get myself + my records together. But just before I go, Graham Welch, who wrote the German Girls piece for Cha Cha Charming, has put together a seriously impressive Euro-girls website called www.readysteadygirls.eu that is sure to please all Cha Cha Charming readers (and to make its editor just a lil' bit jealous).
