Too Much

06.27.05

Feist charmed a Saturday night Bowery Ballroom crowd with a voice miles clearer and stronger than on record, and some pretty hysterical in-between-songs banter. Who knew the girl doubled as a comedian? All the tracks sounded great except for the acoustic version of her Bee Gees cover "Inside And Out." Dance songs should never be stripped of the dance.
I'm surviving on two hours sleep. I don't usually stay out until 6 am on Sunday nights, but Kalle was in town and I never pass up a night with Swedes, especially ones that have gold teeth like Belle De Jour hottie Pierre Clementi. After their gig at The Knitting Factory, we all headed to Spring street club Sway, which was JAMMED beyond belief at 3:30 in the friggin' morning! Who in their right mind is out at that hour on a Sunday night- drinking and dancing like it's New Year's Eve?
Tonight I must rest because Annie's Djing/ performing at Hiro tomorrow night and doors don't open until 11. A week of international pop and no sleep.
The Le One Night Stand party gang is hooking up a bash for Bastille Day (Thursday July 14th) so I'll post the flyer as soon as it's ready. And to celebrate the French national holiday, I'll be playing a full set of Japanese pop- from then and now. And Mylene Farmer's "Sans Contrefacon" of course.

Oh yes, perhaps you noticed the new splash opening page for Brit Girls CD It's So Fine? Just a little bit of shameless self-promotion for my liner notes. If you live in England you have no excuse not to buy it. Yankees head to Amazon.

Gosh, I have the sarcasm turned up high tonite- must be from too much of too much.
