Record Collecting Girls

Ten days until I leave the comforts of my NY life and move to Tokyo for six months. Last week I felt like hell- frantically trying to prepare for six months worth of Cha Cha Charming work, buying presents for friends, agonizing over what to pack, and basically wondering why I was torturing myself. If I have it so good in NY, why am I moving to Tokyo?

There are many reasons, but mainly because I love the challenge. I am facing my three biggest fears- being alone, the unknown, and having to speak in a foreign language. However, I've been given a golden opportunity in Japan- a chance to work at Warner Music! And when I think of all the new records I'll find, the people I'll meet, the bands I'll discover, well...... this Tokyo idea begins to sound pretty exciting!

The latest issue of VENUS magazine features an article about four female record collectors (including myself). Record collecting is 95% male, so it's always fascinating to read about the odd woman digging through record bins and devouring Record Collector. VENUS should be available at most independent record stores and major bookstore chains. Click here for the VENUS website.
